Waffen-SS Camouflage Uniforms AK 130008
Waffen-SS Camouflage Uniforms provides an excellent chronological overview of the camouflage uniforms of the Waffen-SS from 1936 to 1945. This 388-page book is aimed at military modellers, developers of military history games, militaria collectors, historians and readers interested in military history and camouflage in general.
It begins with the history of Waffen-SS camouflage and how Prof. Dr. Otto Schick observed nature before developing his dramatic and unique camouflage patterns. The book shows the special rank insignia designed to distinguish officers and NCOs without disturbing the camouflage effect. A schematic overview presents every element of the uniform in Waffen-SS camouflage, with the starting date of the different patterns that appeared on each piece.
Full-colour photographs detail all major SS camouflage patterns on their autumn and spring sides and describe the colours in detail. It contains 1095 colour photos of original Waffen-SS camouflage pieces, 160 original black & white photos and three original colour photos. Some original pieces and pictures are published for the first time, including the camouflage coverall of a well-known Knight’s Cross holder.
