Javier Tome got in touch with an ID for the photo on page 214: “close to the Deutsches Weintor in Schweigen-Rechtenbach, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany”. In fact, he was kind enough to give some background from the History of the 14th Armored Division:
“C Company [62nd AIB] moved out and with the tanks crossed the German border at 1030 December 16; no resistance was encountered, though the 2nd platoon picked up some prisoners in a chateau near Schweigen and the Headquarters Company fired its first rounds in Germany.”
